Kristin's Journey

Grace House of Longview brought me to Heartisans as a part of their exit program. I struggled with addiction to drugs after the death of my son. On Labor Day, 2019 I was arrested for a felony drug charge, while I was sitting in jail I made the decision my life had to change or I would wind up spending my life in the penitentiary or dead. From that point, I sought out a faith based recovery program which led to me entering the Heartisans’ program, so that I would be able to re-enter society prepared and confident.

Heartisans has helped me to feel more confident, given me tremendous support, encouragement, and become like another family to me. The program has impacted me in a positive way and helped to guide me along a positive path.

When I think about Heartisans, LOVE is what comes to my mind.

I loved getting to go to all the studios, and all the mentors. I just love Heartisans period, there isn’t anything I don’t love about it.

Heartisans is a God send, they have helped me in so many ways, from learning how to do my make up, getting outfit for interviews, setting up a mock interview, helping me with an amazing resume, techniques for bible journaling, how to cut and apply vinyl, crocheting, and sewing. I got help in manufacturing, spiritual therapy, and they prepared me for the workplace by training me in essential skills, and bible studies, and more. Every single thing I did at Heartisans helped me grow and continue to feel loved and prepared me for leading a successful life.
